PROCEDURE FOR BUYING/SELLING ANIMALS
PROCEDURE FOR BUYING/SELLING ANIMALS
PROCEDURE FOR BUYING/SELLING ANIMALS AND THEIR DERIVATES
Recommendations of the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment with regards to the selling and purchase of animals and their derivatives under CITES: ADIHEX complies with the recommendations of the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment (UAE CITES Management Authority) and Federal Law No. (11) of 2002 concerning Regulation and Control of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and its Executive Regulations.
The recommendations are as follows:
Do not exhibit animals, plants or their derivatives (live or trophy) that do not have CITES Certificates or Permits (such as Falcons, Houbara Bustard, Houbara lures, skins and other hunting trophies).
Do not import live CITES- listed species or their derivatives before obtaining an Import Certificate from the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment.
Do not import CITES- listed species or their derivatives before obtaining Export/Re-export Certificates from the CITES Management Authorities concerned with CITES implementation in the exporting countries.
Do not give away falcons in raffle draws during the exhibition before getting them initially registered and approved by the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment.
Please note that delivering a falcon without notifying the CITES Office will hamper transferring it to a new owner, or delay exporting / re-exporting it, until the necessary documents are obtained.
The falcons on display must be bred in captivity and must include the identification marks such as Ring number
When transferring or selling a falcon to a new owner, the previous owner has to give the new owner a copy of the captivity breeding certificate for falcons of UAE origin or the falcon’s Export/Re-export Certificate issued from the country of export.
All incoming and outgoing consignments shall be subject to applicable legislation, regulations and procedures enforced in the country regarding quarantine, regulating and control of international trade in endangered animals and plants.
Please note that the online services for issuing CITES import, export and re-export certificates or falcon passport are provided through the website of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
