The evaluation criteria for this contest depend on:

• The efficiency and usefulness of the stand made for the falcon, so that it feels comfortable.
• The general appearance.
• The quality of the materials from which the falcon stand is made.
• It must be reasonably priced and accessible to all.
• Aesthetic image from a traditional point of view.
• Participation is limited to manufacturers of handmade falcon stands.

The Jury:

It consists of experts specialized in falconry and its equipment, and members of the Emirates Falconers Club.

Competition Date:

The competition will be held on the third day of ADIHEX, on the 4th of September, while the winners will be announced and honored on the last day of the event.

About the falcon's stand (the bird's perch) - and the purpose of the contest:

The falcon stand is considered one of the most important tools for falconry, it is made of wood or metal in a cylindrical shape with a wide flat surface at its end. For comfort, it is covered in leather, felt, carpet, or artificial grass. Additionally, at the bottom of the pole, a nail is hammered into the sand or soil to secure it and ensure that the falcon stands on it comfortably and steadily for a long period of time.

Today, there are many forms and shapes of the falcon stand and its manufacturing materials. However, the traditional wooden stand still has a unique special aesthetic that expresses the original legacy of falconry and falcon breeding.

The competition aims to support and encourage craftsmen, inventors, and companies specialized in the manufacture of falconry tools and equipment, due to the historical symbolism and authentic heritage value that the falcon’s stand represents.
